University Professor Ingrid Lilligren is Professor of Ceramics, Department of Art, at Iowa State University, where she teaches all levels of ceramics. As a 2022-2024 Fellow of the Student Innovation Center, she developed a palette of Cone 6 glazes, taking advantage of Iowa’s wind-generated electricity for firing kilns. Recent exhibitions include The Grinnell College Museum of Art, The Des Moines Art Center; Whitechapel Gallery, London; Brunnier Art Museum at Iowa State University; Woodbury University, Los Angeles; and Museum of the Hand in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her art is held in public collections including Grinnell College, Iowa State University, the Sioux City Art Center, and private collections. Her art incorporates Braille to explore social, cultural, and political blindness.
